GINI SAVAGEco-founder and director of the Yoga Center of Marin, has practiced yoga for 54 years and taught it for the past 41. She is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and has studied many times with Mr. Iyengar in India, England and California. Yoga Center of Marin director & instructor Suzanne Kanner

SUZANNE KANNER is a popular Marin County yoga teacher with over 30 years of teaching experience. She is the co-founder and director of the Yoga Center of Marin, established in 1986. An Intermediate Level certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, she has studied several times in India with the Iyengars, as well as with many senior teachers in the US and Europe, including Ramanand Patel, Manouso Manos, Patricia Walden, Gabriella Giubilaro, Judith Lasater, and Kofi Busia. Suzanne’s teaching is precise and inspiring, challenging, yet nurturing. Under her guidance students deepen and expand their yoga practice, learning to restore, and rejuvenate body, mind, and spirit. DAVID CARLOS David has been practicing yoga for more than 30 years and began teaching 20 years ago so he could give back some of the many benefits he has experienced through the profound practice of Iyengar yoga, including greater strength, flexibility and most importantly a deep sense of clarity and well-being. He taught yoga at the College of Marin for many years and also assisted Alice Rocky with her classes there. CLAIRE COLVIN is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher who has studied Iyengar yoga for over 39 years, at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in San Francisco and four times in India with the Iyengar family. SCARLETT HEADLEY, certified Iyengar yoga teacher, has been a devoted yoga practitioner since she was 16 years old. Her classes are fun, engaging and informative. She utilizes her deep understanding and knowledge of yoga with alignment based instructions and use of props to guide students into poses while learning correct actions and minimizing discomfort. JAMIE LAMKA has been practicing Iyengar yoga for 38 years and teaching for 26. He has developed yoga programs for contractors, aging athletes, and health care providers.Jamie’s strength is his grasp of the fundamentals, compassion for pain, and understanding of human challenges. STEPHANIE LAWRENCE has been an Iyengar yoga practitioner since 1979, inspired by Senior Iyengar teachers with whom she has studied in London, New York and San Francisco. For the past few years she has conducted special yoga classes for students with Parkinson’s Disease. Stephanie draws from the yoga sutras and from her own ebullient sense of humor. Yoga Center of Marin instructor Julia Lorimer

JULIA LORIMER, Certified Yoga Therapist, has specialized in pain management for three decades combining Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics with anatomically detailed deep tissue therapy. She has studied extensively with the BKS Iyengar family in Pune, India as well as with renowned Senior Iyengar teachers including Manouso Manos and Ramandand Patel.Julia is a Sanskrit scholar, a Vedanta and Meditation teacher, and an expert in Sanskrit Chanting. She is the Founder of Meta Yoga- a program for healing chronic pain. Ariane Wlasak L.Ac.(ANANDA MA), is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and a licensed Acupuncturist. By combining her holistic healing practice with the profound method of Iyengar Yoga her classes stimulate a compassionate and powerful process for movement of energy in body, mind and spirit. Yoga Center of Marin: instructor Susan McCormick

SUSAN McCORMICK, a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, draws upon her life experience, her daily asana and pranayama practice, and ongoing studies with other senior teachers to guide her teaching. Additionally, she has received teacher training and certification to teach pelvic floor work from Leslie Howard. SUSY STEWART began her study of yoga more than 41 years ago. Her yoga practice has been fueled by several trips to India where she studied with the Iyengars and followers of Sri Aurobindo. Her principal teachers are Janet MacLeod and Manouso Manos. Eileen-Murphy

EILEEN MURPHY has practiced various types of yoga since 1991. After several back injuries, she was using a cane to get around. She went to a Kundalini retreat four years ago, with the idea that it may help her back. Since the first class at that retreat, Eileen has not used a cane. After a strong desire to pass this amazing technology on to others, she was trained at the Guru Ram Das Ashram in San Francisco. She specializes in playing her 36″ gong.
